Half Japanese, Amerikalı avangart rock müzik grubu. Maryland'ta kurulmuştur tarafından kurulmuştur Jad Fair ve David Fair. Noise ve alternatif müzik yapan gruplarda etkileri oldukça hissedilmektedir. 1980'lerde "Half Gentlemen/Half Beasts" "The Band that Would be King" gibi rock müzikte çığır açan albümlere imza atmışlardır. 1990'larda da "Hot" "Bone Head" gibi önemli albümlerle bu çizgilerini sürdürmüşlerdir.Genelikle dinlemesi zor bir müzik yapmaktadırlar.Müziklerinde uzun distortion bölümler önemli yer tutmaktadır.
