Paludamentum

Julius Cæsar üzerinde bir paludamentum.

Paludamentum, Roma Cumhuriyeti'nde devrinde yüksek görevliler tarafından giyilen renkli geniş harmani. Sonra yalnızca generaller tarafından giyilmiştir.

Paludamentum, genellikle koyu vişne, scarlet ya da mor renklerde,[1] bazende beyaz olurdu.[2] Fibula ismi verilen bir kopça ile omuza tutturulurdu. Paludamentum giymenin, savaşa giderken törensel bir anlamı vardı.[3]
