Gazete, Washington, DC'de basılmaktadır. 1982 yılında Unification Kilisesi (Unification Church) adına Sun Myung Moon ve yardımcısı Bo Hi Pak ve diğer kilise üyeleri tarafından kurulmuştur. Pak, Washington Times Corporation (1982-1992) şirketinin kurucu başkanı olmuştur.[1] 2007 yılında The Washington Times 102,351 tiraja ulaşmıştır.[2]
