Hayatı
Bing Crosby, 1925 yılında Hollywood'daki cafelerde ve küçük müzikhollerde davulcu ve şarkıcı olarak çalışmaya başladı. Paul Whiteman ile tanışması, bir orkestraya girerek profesyonelleşmesini sağladı. Mack Sennett stüdyolarında eğitim ve staj gördükten sonra New York'taki Paramount Theatre ile imzalayıp uygulamaya başladığı beş aylık sözleşme sürecinde ün kazandı. Plakları, radyo programları ve filmleri birbirini izledi. Özellikle The Road to... film serisini çevirdikten sonra adı daha çok duyuldu.
1940 - 1961 yılları arasında Dorothy Lamour ve Bob Hope ile birlikte oynadığı küçük müzikal güldürülerden oluşan dizi, Crosby'nin ününü daha da pekiştirdi. Birçok filmde rol aldı, albümler çıkardı ve radyo programları yaptı. Mikrofona çok yakın, alçak sesle, yumuşak ve içten bir tarzda şarkı söyleyerek sesli sinema ve yeni ses kayıt tekniklerinin getirdiği koşullarda hızla gelişen şarkıcı tipinin ilk örneği olan sanatçının “White Christmas” adlı şarkısı, döneminin en sevilen şarkısı oldu. 1944 yılında Oscar, 1962 yılında Grammy Yaşam Boyu Başarı Ödülü aldı. Call me Lucky (Bana Şanslı De) adlı otobiyografisi 1953 yılında yayımlanan ve sporculuğuyla da tanınmış olan Bing Crosby, golf oynarken geçirdiği bir kalp krizi sonucu öldü.
