Hint Altkıtası

Hint altkıtası, çoğunlukla Hint Levhası üzerinde yer alan, Himalayalar ile Hint Okyanusu arasında kalmış coğrafi bölgeyi tanımlamak için kullanılan terim. Bu terimin belirttiği bölge konusunda fikir ayrılıkları varsa da genellikle Hindistan, Pakistan, Bengladeş, Nepal, Butan, Sri Lanka ve Maldivler'i içeren alan kastedilmektedir.[1]
