Mark Kirkland

Mark Kirkland, ABD'li yönetmen. Simpsonlar'ın 65 bölümünü yönetmiştir.

Kariyeri

Babası fotoğrafçı Douglas Kirkland'dır.^[1] Kirkland, küçük yaştayken resimle ilgilenmeye başladı. 17 yaşındayken California Institute of the Arts'ta dört yıl boyunca Deneysel Animasyon Programı üzerine eğitim aldı.^[2] Burada, Jules Engel, Kendall O'Connor, Ollie Johnston ve Moe Gollub gibi kişiler tarafından ona danışmanlık yapıldı.^[1] 1976'da, Richard Jefferies ile birlikte David Bowie tarafından seslendirilen "Fame" şarkısına yaptıkları animasyonla Student Academy Ödülü kazandı.^[1][3] Okulu bitirdikten sonra Disney'e başvurdu fakat kabul edilmedi, böylece Hanna-Barbera için çalışmaya başladı.^[1] Simpsonlar'ın ikinci sezonundan itibaren şovda yer almaya başladı. Şovun 64 bölümünü yöneterek şovun diğer yönetmenlerinden daha çok bölüm çekmiş oldu.^[1][4] 18. sezonda, şovda supervising olarak yer aldı.^[1]

Kirkland, Simpsonlar çalışmasıyla ile üç Emmy ve iki Environmental Media Ödülü kazandı.
