Yaratılış kitabının giriş bölümü

Tekvin veya Yaratılış, Tanah ve Eski Ahit'in ilk beş kitabını oluşturan Tevrat'ın birinci kitabı. Toplam 50 bölümden oluşur.

Kitabın adı Batı dillerine adı Yunancada "yaratılış, doğuş" anlamındaki Genesis kelimesinden geçmiştir.^[1] Musevi geleneğinde ise kitabın adı, kitabın ilk kelimesi olan "ilk, başlangıç" anlamına da gelen Bişvil Reşit ya da kısaca Bereşit kelimesinden türemiştir.

Dünyâ'nın yaratılışını, Âdem ile Havvâ'yı, cennetten kovuluşu, Habil ve Kabil'i, Nuh Tûfânı'nı, Bâbil Kulesi'ni ve İbrâhim, İshak, Yâkup ve Yusuf peygamberleri anlatır.
